Ian Blackman – Old Skool Stock Car Racer
Ian Blackman lives with his wife, Wendy, sons Nicholas and Michael and daughter Gemma, in a nice part of rural Kent. He used to live in the town that epitomises ‘nice, Tunbridge Wells, but it must have been in a rum old part of that genteel spa, because one of his neighbours was a Banger racer, one Mark Longhurst, aka ‘Uncle Fester’, nicknamed for the crash-happy punters of Arlington Raceway after the sinister shiny-plated sibling of Gomez Addams, undead star of TV and film.

National Championship Weekend
July 31/August 1 saw the 41st running of the National Championships at Hednesford. The weather was fine and the crowd was treated to 40 races from a 240-car entry during the weekend.

European Championships
The BriSCA F1 and F2 plus the Rebels European Championships were run at Northampton over the weekend of 17th/18th July, with big turnouts of cars in each formulae (72 F1s, 97 F2s and 46 Rebels).
