Midget Racing with The Bilbys
The Bilby Racing Team, consisting of Andrew, John and father Bill, has probably been busier than most last season maintaining four cars between them, of which two have been hired out, one having had at least five different drivers. Besides helping his sons John and Andrew maintain the cars Bill Bilby also helped organise grids and compile championship results, whilst John (whose work commitments frequently take him away from home for weeks at a time) has done his best to keep promoters informed of latest Midget news and standings. Despite such a heavy racing commitment Andrew and John both had their best results to date during 2001 and are hoping to achieve even more in 2002. Story Anne Sayell

Jim Gregory
One of racings busiest men will be back on the road the way he has been for almost two decades. He doesn’t own a track, he’s never owned or driven a race car, but as Spedeworths lead commentator, Jim Gregory is every bit as involved with the sport as many of those who do. Story Paul Huggett

Queen of the Speedways
Fay Taylour was a red-haired Irish lass who lived for speed on two and four wheels. She was a pioneer speedway rider when the bike sport came to Britain from Australia in 1928 and when the Auto Cycle Union banned the girls after one of them fell off her bike in a pre-meeting parade at Wembley and was injured, Fay turned to four wheels making international midget car racing her speciality until the mid-1950s. Story John Hyam
