Been There, Done That, Got the Ban!
Darren Ahern has raced, won and got banned from more oval formulas than many manage in a lifetime. Incredibly he is not 21 until April and he seems to have crammed an awful lot of oval racing into a very short time, but when you are brought up in the Ahern family with its rich oval history, you are seemingly born to race. Story Matthew Bull

Lydden Challenge
Stock Rods beaten, but they impress nonetheless

There were races aplenty – almost fifty – and awards galore when Spedeworth’s Stock Rod team went to Kent’s Lydden Hill Circuit on Feb 15 for an unusual Saturday daytime date, racing in the first leg of a challenge match with the Stock Hatch Rallycross cars. Most of the visitors – in the main regulars from Arlington Raceway, Eastbourne, with proven longer track hotshots like Steve Weeks and Stuart Smyth, as well as furthest travelled Wayne Leedell from Peterborough – soon adapted to the mixture of left as well as right hand turns, varying gradients on the track and mixture of tarmac and dirt surfaces. Story Paul Huggett.

Warneton Stadium
The Stadium underwent a huge face-lift during the last two months of 2002. We show how the work was done in pictures, and also have details of the exciting new CAMSO V8 formula that will race there.

Wimbledon Stadium
Although it wasn’t celebrated in any way, Spedeworth have just completed their 40th anniversary year of Stock Car Racing at Wimbledon Stadium, London SW17. Due to the luxurious facilities at Plough Lane, it has become one of the most important venues in the Country and certainly the most prestigious and has hosted more big events than any other.
