Carl Edwards
Carl Edwards has literally sprung onto the NASCAR scene taking his first Nextel Cup win after passing Jimmie Johnson at the finish line in Atlanta recently. After an early career on the mid-western dirt tracks he ran a handful of USAC Silver Crown races and then made the switch to the NASCAR Truck Series with an under funded Truck team in 2002 where he competed in seven races and chalked up a top ten result, it was from there he was spotted by Roush Racing and placed in a seat intended for Kyle Busch, younger brother of Roush’s reigning Nextel Cup champ Kurt.
