Anyone scanning through the championship results for the ultra-competitive Stock Rods in 2008 will have seen a certain Shane Murray Esq. pop up with some regularity, with wins in the ORCi, Irish, Irish Points and Yokohama Tyres Championships, as well as a convincing victory in the European Challenge Cup at the Ipswich Spedeweekend. Add in runner-up slots in the European and British Long Track showdowns, and third in both the British and the Nationals, it was certainly a fine season by anyone’s standards. ‘Classic’ Year in Store at Ballymena Raceway
It promises to be another exciting year of oval racing at Ballymena Raceway in 2009 with eighteen action packed fixtures planned for the new season. All your existing favourite classes are back again for more in 2009 where they will be joined on the regular roster by the Classic Hot Rods. Raceway plans to introduce this exciting formula during the new season with eight fixtures provisionally booked for the Classics, the first of which takes place at the season opener on Good Friday, April 10th.
