Description
Inside the June Short Circuit, the main feature is on racing costs and how Money Makes the Wheels Go Round. Damon Wellman started in Ministox, progressed to Formula Renault on the big circuits, but is now back on the ovals with a camouflaged paint job on a 1300 Stock Car. Paul Huggett and Damon Wellman tell it like it is. Paul Huggett also went on a visit to the re-opened Kings Lynn stadium, and also raced in the up and coming GT Hot Rod budget class at Swaffham that would appear to be taking off big time at Trackstar, with the front wheel drive 1600 engined class offering cheap motorsport with readily available cars.
Shirley Buckland reports on the opening round of the SEGTO championship at the Angmering venue.
In the regular columns, Paul Huggett reflects on his choice of racing formulas, or his indecision as to what to race in, John Hyam provides more interesting background stuff, whilst Pete Tucker remembers the chaos of some of the early Stock Car years, including fans swimming across a river to get in for nothing!
Scenes from the past looks at some classic Spedeweekend shots, with a superb one of the purple George Polley Anglia, whilst the Andy Smith roll at Coventry, a 4 sequence shot is in black and white. Also there are more racers cars. Plus the issue will have all the news, reports and action shots making one heck of a lot of reading.
