The tidy Walthamstow Stadium is sadly to close, with the last greyhound meeting taking place on 16th August.

Boardley’s Treble Top
Carl Boardley equalled Colin White’s record of three consecutive National Hot Rod World Championship wins with a commanding drive at the Ipswich Spedeweekend, he started the race from pole position and led every one of the 75 laps and didn’t put a wheel wrong.

Ipswich 2008 Spedeweekend
This was a massive weekend as usual with 434 cars racing in 35 races and they put on some superb racing and tremendous action for the huge crowd. Saturday dawned very wet and breezy which didn’t bode too well for the weekend but, thankfully, the heavy showers died away around 10.30am which meant the drying track scuppered the National Hot Rod lap times and forced a public draw for the first time since 1990. By noon the sun was out and we had a cracking afternoon with warm temperatures and a dry fast track. Sunday continued in the same way but it clouded over and we just got the World Final run in the dry before the showers set in for the rest of the day although it certainly wasn’t as bad as some forecasts had suggested.

School of Coull Part 2
Having honed his motivational skills as well as those in setting up Stock Cars, working with Sam Holland, Gordon found himself with a tougher challenge when he started helping another young 1300 Stockie pilot, James ‘Goon’ Stace, whose career so far had consisted of a large number of crashes interspersed with some quick but barely effective laps.
