Onwards and Upwards
Progressing his racing career from Rookie Bangers to National Hot Rods has taken twelve enjoyable years on the tracks for Suffolk’s Shaun Taylor. He talked to SC’s Paul Huggett about how his long-term plans that were hatched before he even left school have taken him into the top non-contact league, and on a budget that is half that frequently bandied about in racing circles. Will he have won his first NHR race by the time the next issue is on the shelves? Who knows, but he won’t stop trying until he does, we can bet on that!
Modstox – Close Racing on a Budget
It all began with a formula in the mid-90’s, then known as the Formula Fiats (back then there were some articles here in Short Circuit calling the class the ‘uglies’) and over the years the rules have been developed to where the Reliant engine became the norm, and the cars started to resemble open wheeled Stock Cars. Almost overnight the formula transformed into what is now known as Modstox. However, a more recent rule change was to allow the conversion of older F2 chassis into Modstox to raise the car numbers.
