Canadian Tour Part 2
The second leg of our trip, which was set up to cement further the links between the UK and our short oval racing friends in Canada saw us heading east from the Niagara area up highway 401, which runs the length of Ontario to the French-Canadian province of Quebec, never far from the shores of Lake Ontario once you pass the city of Toronto. We – myself, plus chief test pilot Foskett, who was due to race three more cars donated for the tour, Crew Chief Trev, lens-man Smiffy, and the Ladeez – stayed for a couple of nights in the peaceful countryside at Lansdowne, where one of Fozzy’s old mates, Paul, formerly from Hertfordshire, owns a guest house and riding centre – it was great, and only a half-hour ride from our next track, Brockville Speedway.
